Constructed DER

How It Works

How It Works

The design DER calculated by the administrator/assessor at design stage will automatically populate the on line as constructed DER document in the building control system. The administrator/assessor has collated all the onsite compliance documentation and technical data needed to calculate the as constructed DER, through the building control process, and uses this data to calculate the as constructed DER.

The administrator/assessor inputs the results from the as constructed DER into the on line as constructed DER section of the building control system, so a direct comparison can be made between the as design and as constructed DER. If all the procedures outlined in this building control system are followed then the as design DER will be less than or equal to the as constructed DER and that the design DER will be less than or equal to the Target DER calculated by SAP.

It is important that the administrator/assessor calculates the as constructed DER correctly because this as constructed specification and DER will be locked and stored on the Foresite data base and can be audited at any stage. All the technical data used to calculate the as constructed DER needs to be in the possession of the administrator.

An e mail will be sent to the registered stakeholders asking them to check the compliance data and if after an agreed period of two months the stakeholders have no objection, then the stored data on the as design and as constructed specification and DER can then be locked in the Foresite data base.

The data input in the as constructed section of the website is data forwarded to the administrator of the building control system for this project by the energy assessor. The energy assesor has used their version of SAP and the online complinace documents to calculate the as constructed energy ratings.
