Welcome to the Foresite website.
Welcome to the Foresite website, there are three sections to this website: "Choosing a Method of Construction" that helps the design team chose a method of construction to use for a particular project- "Design Section" that helps OCDEAs design compliant Part L specifications that set the standard for the third section of the website the "Foresite Building Control System" that guarantees compliance with the designed compliant Part L Specification.
Choosing a Method of Construction
This section of the website helps the design team choose the most suitable method of construction from the technical guidance documents by providing Construction Detail; Best practice and Technical Data; Cost to build; Build Ability and the Recommended Minimum Requirements for the specification for all the methods of construction Full Fill; Partial Fill and Timber/Steel.
Design Section
This section of the website provides account holding OCDEAs with the design tools to design and store compliant part L information in their administration page on the Foresite data base. The construction detail; the best practice and technical data can be imported from their administration page into the Foresite Building Control system if the project commences and when the dwelling is being registered.
Building Control
The compliant design information imported from the design section of the website: the specification; construction detail and best practice can be viewed online in the design section of the building control system by the registered stakeholders who have been sent a project ID and password by the building control system.
The building control system customises compliance documents for the fabric and fixed building for the registered dwelling and makes this information available to all the stakeholders. If the as constructed specification is equal to or better than the design specification outlined in these compliance documents then the dwelling is compliant with the design Part L specification.
The website is designed to help OCDEAs to design Part L specifications to the level of performance they require and to provide a quality assurance system that will prove that what has been designed and stored on this website is delivered to site.
