Design Section How it works?
A Compliant specification:
It is important that the compliant standard for the fabric & fixed building specifications are set for the required performance of the registered building in the building control system. the Designer has designed a complaint fabric and fixed building specification for the registered building using the tools in the design section of the Foresite website, each element of the compliant part L specification, construction detail and best practice are stored on the Foresite data base, this information sets the standard for the building control system and is imported into the building control system when the building is being registered, at building notice stage of the project.
Compliant Part L specification:
Each element of the imported compliant fabric and fixed building specification The Floor; Wall; Roof; Windows and Doors; y factor and air permeability; ventilation; lighting; Secondary heating; water storage; Boiler & controls populates the online design section of the website. This gives clear direction to the stakeholders but in particular the builder, as to what performance is required for each element of the fabric to ensure compliance for the registered building.
Good Construction Detail:
Each typical detail for the Floor, Wall, Roof, Windows and Doors that are imported from the design section of the website will have a compliant fabric specification description specifically for the registered building. The drawings will give advice on how to construct the y factor detail and make that particular detail air tight, this gives clear direction to the stakeholders but in particular the builder, as to what good details are required for each construction joint to ensure fabric compliance for the registered building.
Best Practice:
Each element of the imported compliant specification the Floor; Wall; Roof; Windows and Doors; y factor and air permeability, ventilation, lighting; secondary heating; water storage;; will have technical data and best practice specifically for the registered building. The advice given will be based on: The fabric first approach; technical data supplied by the suppliers and Foresites experience of designing and project managing the construction of energy efficient buildings (see terms & conditions). This gives clear direction to the stakeholders but in particular the builder, as to what materials should be used and how, for each element of the fabric to ensure compliance for the registered building
Proving Compliance with the design DER:
When designing the Part L specification in the design section of the website, the Designer has used their version of SAP to prove the designed Part L specification is compliant with the performance level required for the registered building. The compliant Design DER is stored with all the other design information on the registered building on the Foresite data base and when the design information is being imported the design DER in the design section of the building control system will be populated with the standardised compliant Design DER. Proving the design part L specification is compliant with the level of performance required for the registered building.
Access:
When the dwelling has been registered and the compliant design information has been imported into the design section of the website, the Designer through his administration page sends an e mail to the registered stakeholders: The Building Control Body, The Building Control Officer, The Designer, The Builder and The Promoter, informing them of their responsibilities in helping deliver a compliant dwelling and also giving them a project ID and password which allows them to view all the compliant design information presented in the design section of the website
